African Cichlids

So I have a 29 gallon tank im setting up and want it to be an Adrican Cichlid tank.
I want to know:

-What types go together
-What types I can have
-How many I can have

I would say no to mbunas because the tank needs to be at least 4 feet long.

Yup, a 4-foot is the minimum I recommend for mbuna. You can get some really nice Lake Tanganikya species, I'll add a couple of links to check out for stocking suggestions.
