I went to my lfs and they had a couple. I just have 2 questions.

1. Will they eat cherry barbs?

2. I have a golden killifish, will the butterfly fish attack it or something since the killifish usually stays at top? Also my two balloon mollies usually stay at top also.

IME yes on both accounts
the balloon mollys should be ok with an ABF

From my personal experience I think they would be ok with the cherry barbs. Also, as Wolf says - you'd be ok with the mollies. Not 100% certain about the killifish as i've never had this situation. I wouldn't risk the killis but should be ok with the Barbs and Mollies.

Quote from another post in the Oddballs forum -

You know they are predators and have huge mouths compared to body size rite?

Also, DarkEntity & InvaderWithKey both re-iterated to the OP in that thread that you make sure you keep the tank covered at all times - or you'll end up with a dead ABF on your carpet in the morning....

I think cherry barbs would be eaten due to small size, mollies would be ok, but im not sure about the killie, it could be aggresive to the butterfly or the other way round

My cherry barbs are pretty big. They are all atleast one inch and fat except for one which is pretty small. Also, will the ABF eat platies?

I have an ABF with my golden wonder killifish and they go together fine. They often stay close to each other as if their the same species. Actually the only time their apart is if I startle them by accident when it's feeding time.

They do? because i have heard ABF are agressive toward other top dwellers. How big is your ABF and how big is your Golden killi?

My ABF is about 3 inches and so is the killifish. They are doing great so far.

well... my golden killifish is 2 inches and the abf's there selling at my lfs are 4 inches... will there be any problems?
