Alright so I was at a friend of my dad's mowing his lawn. (I got 45 bucks off of 2 lawns today) I told him about the fish tank thing I'm getting into. He said that I'll need some type of airstone in it? Or some type of device that produces bubbles. Do I really need this? I plan on having fake plants at first, but later on when I get everything under control I plan to plant it. So do I need the airstones?

hay the same here...but the air stone is totally up to you as some people do and some dont!!!
i personaly havent in mine as yet and also have plastic plants but will change once everything is up and running ok! have u got any fish and if so what type are you looking to keep?

I have one 55g tank that I found, and I'm getting a 30g in the next few days. (i'm sure this time guys.) I just want to have everything ready. So I can get everything I need before I actually get fish.

For a sand substrate do I need a gravel cleaner? Or will snails and otos do that for me?

So I lied again. The tank my friend was selling me is no more. when they were moving fish, the tank cracked. So it's no more. So I only have the 55 gallon now... hmmm... I'm gonna start looking for a smaller one with all the stuff I need to start a tank. I still have that 55g on the back porch though. The only thing holding me back is money of course, and the stand for the tank, plus we have to reinforce the floor under where the tank is going to be.
