I was wondering if anybody on the forum had Yellow Acaras (Aequidens Metae)?

I've got 4, one is male and is about 5", the other 3 are "I think" a male and two females.

When the fish are juvis they are quite a boring beige, but as they get mature they become gold with blue cheeks.

Let me know if you have any. :)

Do you have any pictures? I have a pair(?) of laetacara flavilabris, I think they may both be males though! turning into lovely looking fish though now, very similar with regards the blue cheeks etc.

Are yellow acaras a dwarf acara? Whats their temprement like?

No there not dwarf acaras. The male I've got (hes called Ed) is 5" and the other three are 3" - 4", so they are quite big fish.

They are very peaceful, tho the 4 of them occasionally have a chase round with each other but its not aggressive.

Here is a link to some info on them:

Here's a few pics, the first 2 are of Ed, the 3rd one is one of the juveniles.
