hey, i've wanted lake malawi's since i started keeping fish but i was just wondering how much dead loss you guys get per week, like on average and at worst? also, which fish could i house comfortably within a 70l?

this year ive had 3 deaths, all old age.

and no 70 litres isnt big anough for a proper malawi set-up, only the smaller species

3 deaths? i thought it'd be like 3 per day from what people have told me. which fish could i have then? if it's not big enough at all, i'll look for a bigger tank when i get paid. i really really want them.

buy something in the range of 125-240 litres, and fill it with rocks to raise the PH.

You shouldn't have "battle deaths", which is what I'm assuming the people told you, if you do your research and plan your stock accordingly. There are some very stupid things people do with mbuna, which results in fighting and deaths. There will always be some fighting, but its not always bad. There is a pecking order so to speak.

A 48 inch tank will allow you to have many different types. A 36" tank will suffice for some species, but you are limited.
