Not new to fishkeeping but new to using an external filter! I am changing over from an undergravel filter system and have purchased an external Interpet EPF250 filter which I am going to seed for a month running it alongside my undergravel filter before I remove the UG filter altogether. (I have a 10 month old matured tank with fish).
My question is I have a small internal stingray filter for a quarantine tank. Would it be ok to put the sponges from the Stingray internal filter inside my Interpet external filter so that when I need to use the quarantine tank I can pop the sponges back in the Stingray and therefore have a seeded filter for hospital use?
