Hello everyone
I have a few problems I would like some advice on
The first one is I have noticed some sort of growths on one of my plastic plants, they are black and like a fan like shape and there are lots of them but they look like they have stuck to one plant at the moment?? All my water stats are perfect, it appeared when I did a water change and I got rid of my few live plants I had in my tank as I have a snail problem, which leads to my next problem, which is snails, how do I get rid of, they came in on the live plants purchased from the lfs, and there has been an explosion of them, so got rid of plants and did a major tank clean and they are still multiplying!!!!
My final problem is one of my silver mollies, who is pregnant and I have just noticed she is giving birth right now(this is her third batch) but not to live fry but little yellow balls/eggs, can I assume something has gone wrong with this batch and she is aborting??
Thankyou in advance all, this forum is a godsend when you are a beginner like me! lol

Hi
for you snail problem you could try a few clown loaches they eat snail and they are also very entertaining. I don' know about the prblems with the mollies. my fish never have babies.

Hi,

Clown loaches can get very large, how big your tank?

Is your tank salted? If not you get a cory, that would take care of your snails. As for the black stuff, it sounds like algae.

And I'm afraid your molly was aborting. You may never know why, it's not necessarily something wrong with batch, if she's stressed or sick she'll abort. Maybe the plant or snail situation was upsetting her?

Hopefully next pregnancy she'll be back to normal.

Once again, clown loaches get very big so try a smaller species of loach, just google it or go to loaches.com (i think it is) and it should tell you what ones are snail removers. Most are but some (kuhli's) arent as much.
