Hi I need some advice I brought home a female betta from my friends that she bought last week! She had some problems with swiming and we figured it was either swim bladder troubles or that she was constipated, we managed to rule out constipation after a couple of days! Tonight when I have checked on her I realised that her eyes were bulging out! Is there anything I can do to help her? I have got her in a small container and added some salt, should I add some Methylne blue or anything else to the water etc? I have raised the temperature now!

Any advice would be a great help thanks in advance!

PS water stats are fine and so are all the rest of my fish its just this one girl and she was bought with the swimming problems!

Im sorry I dont know. I would add the meth blue and then see how she is. dont do yet though as I dont know if thats right. let someone else help you too

Remove the fish to a separate aquarium and administer Epsom salt to the water to help reduce the swelling. If your fish has both eyes showing this condition, you will need to use medication, such as Maracyn, to treat the condition (always in a separate tank). Keep water quality as high as possible, and monitor the fish carefully.

Thanks Jwdboy, yes it is both eyes that are bulging out and now it looks like she has velvet! I have her in a seperate container within a tank as I don't have any spare tanks just some containers and jars! At least she's still alive this morning!
