Advice On Running A Second Internal Filter Please.

Hi all,

Last week my Fluval U3 arrived and i added it to my tank, my question is should i have the water agitating the surface or pumping out of the bottom outlet or from the spray bar?, i already have a Juwel bioflow 400 which is built in to the tank and i have that one set pointing up to agitate the water.

I'm hoping to get another tank in about 3 months and will use the Fluval in the new tank, saves doing a fish-less cycle-so i've been told.

Any advice guys?

i have both the spraybar rom my external and the return from my internal set to agitate the surface its not essential that both do this but my waters surface area is 4 foot by 2 foot so i like to get as much movement as poss

If the surface is been agitated enough from 1 filter there is no need to have the other one doing the same, it wont do any harm but probably no need
