Any cheap s#!? off Ebay will be fine, provided you calibrate it with liquid of a known salinity, very close to the levels you are looking to test for :good: Basically, read the realm of knowlage sticky and look for the DIY refractometer calibration standard fluid. The salinity you want in the tank will depend on if you keep corals or not. With corals, you want to aim for 1.025-1.027, for fish only, 1.023-1.025 will be fine

All the best

Agree with rabbut, calibrate it with a known cal solution and you'll be fine :D

bought :good:

Although it does make me doubt the build quality when it comes with a spare daylight cover

Meh, it'll be right :good: Just so long as it doesn't fall apart in your hands. It's cheaper to loose than a shop bought one.
