hi 
i have recently gone from a small 24 litre tank which is THINK is about 5gallons up to a 220 litre which is about 50gallons and was wondering how many more fish i can place in there without overcrowding it? at the moment there is 1 big and 2 small silver dollars, 1 peppered catfish, 1 albino catfish, 4 neon tetras, 3 pakistan loachs and 5 tiger barbs. oh and 1 evil blue gourami who is about 3inch that im not sure what to do with. it doesnt bother any of the other fish except the silver dollars it chases around all the time. the guy at the pet store told me its not an aggressive fish but im seeing otherwise!
also i added the 2 smaller silver dollars only a week ago and noticed a couple days later that they looked all banged up and there fins are half missing! i didnt notice this when i first got them but i didnt really look either. i looked around on the net and found out about 'fin rot'. how would i know if they had fin rot in the past and dont have it anymore or if they have it now? my large silver dollars fins are perfect and so pretty i dont want him to catch it. should i treat the tank just in case??
also what are the biggest friendly fish i could put in there? ive read a bit about discus fish but heard they are 'finicky' fish? ive also only been doing this about 2 months so i dont want to get a fish im just going to kill with my lack of fish knowdlege .
