I currently have two fish tanks of similar size, about 15G. One is coldwater with two fancy goldfish, two danios and two weather loaches. The other is Brackish with a f8 puffer and two bumble bee gobies.

The two fancy goldfish have outgrown their tank and I have bought a 3ft tank for them. Plus the coldwater tank is a newer tank than the brackish one and I want move my brackish fish in there.

How do I go about this without buying extra filters or heaters as the ones I have are fine?

Can I just stick the fish in a big bucket with heater if needed while I transfer everything from one tank to the other and then just pop them in without cycling? or would I need to cycle first?

Make sure you transfer them to the same temp as you have taken them out of,and test ph as well.

Would I get away with a fluval 2 in 36" tank with coldwater fish in it or will I need to get a fluval 3? If so could I do as above and just install both of them until the fluval 3 has populated?

No you want get away with a fluval 2 with goldfish keep the fluval 2 and buy a fluval 4 aswell as they are really messy fish, and you have to over filter with them.

yep - our fluval 2 struggles in a 2ft in the bristle nose tank (ok there are lots of little bristlenoses in there)

As Wilder said, Get a 4+ for the 3ft.
