Hi guys,

Can anyone offer me some advice on lighting for my tank please? Its mainly aimed towards sps and softies..

Currently I have a pair of T8's 38W and a pair of T5's 54W.
I'm planning on using coralvue tubes for the T5 (due to overwhelming recommendation) but unsure on which type of lighting to use for each of the tubes..

Some of the things I am unsure of is weither it is better to use the actinic blue lights at the back over the corals.. or are they mainly cosmetic in which case is it better to have them at the front of the tank?

Some of the other options that I have thought of are:

Option 1:
T5's (postion back of tank - Over corals/rockwork): 2x actinic blue (54W each)
T8's (position front of tank): 2x marine white (38W each)

Option 2:
T5's (postion back of tank - Over corals/rockwork): 1x actinic blue (54W each)
T5's (postion back of tank - Over corals/rockwork): 1x marine white (54W each)
T8's (position front of tank): 2x marine white (38W each)

Do you think either of the 2 options above would suite my tank and its needs? or any other recommendations do you have?

I'd go with option 1 if it were my tank. I think you'll like the color better :)
