Hi folks, I was just wondering whats best to do, I have fry in their own tank up stairs, I feed them once in the morning at about 8 but then not again till I come home about 6pm.

So I dont think they are getting enough food, is there a way that I can get them food will I am at work maybe through a wee feeder or something? I dont like these automatic feeeder things though incase it dumps too much in or whatever.

What do you guys do? Reason I am asking is it seems to be taking a long time for them to grow......

I posted pics of them in the pictures section of the forum (and off my tank :shifty: ) the ones in the pics are about maybe 6 weeks old from when that pic was taken. they are now about 8 weeks.

advice much appreciated as its my first time dealing with fry.

cheers chish

i feed my fry frozen (brime shrimp) when they are first released and feed them atleast 3 times a day and i do a daily water change of 25%.

if you do the same i bet your fry will grow alot faster!

Cheers Damo

cheers australia,

I am feeding them brine shrimp once a week and ground up spiriluna sticks, when they were first hatched/born (whatever lol) I fed them first bites for cichlids (like a powder).

And am doing two water changes a week.

anyone else?

okay, i normaly have my African fry tanks set at about 28 degree`s they grow alot quicker in warmer water... :good:

hey chish!
look into Daphnia for food and Mysis too. Both are oober packed with nutrients, I've used them for years for both mbuna & tang fry. (turn off the filter while feeding of course)

cheers both of you,

I'll try that australia thanks, and yeah I will look into daphnia and mysis too waterbender, infact I was looking for daphnia the other day for my adults but the pet shop was out of it. .

in contrast to my fry tank some of the fry in my main tank were born later but have grown quicker???? ANd I dont feed them as much as I see them finding scraps on the sand, mind you the main tank is slighhtly warmer by a couple of degrees.
