I am looking at my new empty cichlid tank except for sand water and 2 large lumps of floating redmoor wood .Q Can anyone advice me the best way to achieve
the ideal water conditions.

hi, firstly what is the ph of your tap water?
Also Are you going for large Amazonians like Oscars etc or Discus, Angels Dwarfs

Redmoor will slightly soften the water and lower the ph but by how much is anyones guess,
Other things you may want to consider are South American plants or LEaf litter
