im moving on saturday and i have to break down and move my 100g tank. theres no way im bagging any of the larger fish ( especially vinny) i havent got an empty tank to use as a holding tank the only thing realisticly big enough to hold the stock that ive got is the bath. we have stopped using any chemicals ie cleaning products in the bath and it will be givven a good scrub with boiling water beforehand.

i can rig up my internal filter and a heater in there and i expect to have the fish in there for around an hour to an hour and a half.

would they be ok for that time ?

Cant see a problem with that Mark, you might want to think about covering it once they are in there with something just in case they decide to jump.

Good luck with the move :)

ok cool cheers minxy . im not looking forward to chasing vinny with the net im not gonna enjoy that 1 bit poor fella .

Don't know if its any use to you, but when I moved I used three of these:

As temporary homes while I sorted the tanks out. I actually bagged the fish up then moved them into the bins at the other end, but if you're using a van theres no reason why you couldn't move them in the bins - as long as you leave the water level a fair way below the top, and seal the lid in place with gaffa tape.

Worked fine for me. In fact (though I'm not proud of it) my goldies are still in there at the moment, as with one thing and another I've not got around to building the stand for their 125L tank (in itself a stopgap until I can find a cheap 4 foot tank.)
