Advice Needed

Looking for some ideas or inspiration for my 35lt (9 gal) aquacube, its only home to a betta and sand substrate right now, I'm needing tall plants as the tank is 15" i think tall and a 12 x 12 footprint. Current lighting is 11w aquacube light. I could inject co2 if needed but I'd prefer not to tbh! I'm at a total loss with what to do here

Well I got busy tying java moss to a wicked piece of bogwood, just need some background plants now, any suggestions?

some vallis at the back, and maybe a few crypts. and you could where the hole is in the wood, tie and anubias ( nana species ) on it
