Hey Guys and Gals,
I currently have a tropical tank with 2 large angel fish and 4 golden barbs. As of tonight I'm getting some tropical piranha, a gourami and a catfish due to a friend changing circumstances and not being able to keep them anymore. They will be coming with their own tank but I was wondering if I can put any/all of them into my original tank or if the species would fight. Its the piranha I'm worried about more than anything.

Thanks for any advice on this matter,
Pyxi

Hi there, Pyxi, welcome to the forum :)

The piranhas are definitely not going to be safe with your fish; although they're not as aggressive as popular opinion would have it (they're actually quite skittish), they can and will take chunks from other fish, if the mood takes them.

As for the gourami and the catfish, it really depends what species they are; some will be too aggressive, other species will be okay.

If you, or your friend, don't know exactly what species they are, post some pics when you get them and we can help ID them for you :)

Another issue to consider is tank size and temperature range. What size is your angel tank ?
