Hello folks,

I have been running a 180L Juwel Rio for 6 months. Never had any trouble, weekly 15% water change, occasional plant fert.

I have three firemouths (2 m, 1 f) - each one looks as though they are carrying air bubbles on them. I have not seen white spot on any fish before, but I am guessing this is what it is. They are behaving as normal - no loss of appetite, same temperament, no brushing against rocks etc.

The only parameter that has changed recently is that the temprature dropped from 26C to 24C for a couple of days due to faulty heater.

What think ye? Couple of photos of the larger male below. Thanks for your help.

to be honest, i dont see any white spot at all. can you say on the fish where you think you see it?

It kind of just looks like the coloration of the fish to me... though, Im not positive. Great looking fish though!

Yeah, it does kind of look like the colloration, but it has definetely not been there until a few days ago. And all three of them have it.

I can happily report that the markings are gone this morning - how very strange. Maybe in some way related to the brief drop in temperature, but who knows. I should have said in earlier posts that all other tankmates are unaffected, it was only the firemouths.

Thanks for comments folks.

Keep a close eye on things and be prepared to treat for Ich. And I agree, those are beauties
