I'm relatively new to the hobby, and have two small tropical tanks. The first has guppies, cherry shrimp, snails and an algae eating catfish, the second has the guppies I couldn't fit in the first. I decided to get a bigger tank to fit them all in, however between deciding to do that and actually doing that a nasty internal parasite (I think that's what it was, my guppies got stringy white poops, became emaciated, stopped eating and died) got into my first tank and swept away all my guppies but four males and a hand full of fry.
My big tank is all set up and the guppies from my second tank are moved in and enjoying the extra space. I'd really like to move the remaining guppies, cherry shrimp, and the algea-eater into my big tank, plus the ornaments since most of my nice ornaments are in the first tank. However I'm terrified of moving the parasite in there too, since it decimated my tank last time.
So, uh, how should I go about doing this?
