Hi,

I have a 190L Juwel Trigon with 5 Zebra Danios and 5 Neon Tetras who are all thriving :)

Was looking for the next tenants for the tank and have always been taken by the corys, tbh. I would have liked to have had Panda's as they look quite striking, but I understand that they might be harder to keep than their relatives. So my questions are;

Can you recommend a nice looking cory that will do well in the above environment?

Will a gravel substrate be OK for them (about .5 to 1 cm pieces)?

Will I need a specific 'cave' for them, or are they happy hiding within plants?

How many should I get (will I be OK with 4-6?)

Thanks for any advice given, its all appreciated.

Hi
i have 4 peppered corys in my tank (see sig) im going to get 4 more soon.
these corys are great, always active and never aggressive, get along fine with all the fish i have.
i would suggest you get 6 as they like to be in groups, theyre a lovely little cory and fun to watch.
cheers x x x

peppered or bronze/albino corys are good "starter" corys, and easy to find too!

6 should be fine in your tank, see how they get on with the gravel, as long as it's smooth stones and nothing sharp they should be fine!

Bronze Cory
Peppered Cory

be aware peppered corys prefer cooler water than most other corys.
