This is the rather large pleco that I adopted from a friends daughter who moved away to university. It was in a 10 gal tank, hence the permanently bent tail.
Thats sad, glad you rescued him though.
My LFS has a common Plec that was kept in a tank too small for him, and he has grown really fat and stumpy, He looks like a big teardrop but seems perfectly happy!!
I also adopted a common plec for awhile....but he was poop machine and was soon to outgrow the 50gal i had him...they are nice looking fish....just get way to big...heres a pic i took just before i gave him away.
It came along at a perfect time. The convict parents in that tank had just killed my chinese algae eater (Jaws). I didn't know what I was going to do about algae. It was the perfect solution. It's so big that the convicts parents don't go anywhere it.
