Hi all,

I remember reading a post on this forum about an adhesive film that could be used as aquarium backing. I think I remember the forum had a roll of it, and it was being posted around to those who wanted some. I can't remember what it was called, is anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Andy :)

Have heard of a vinyl backing that is applied with soapy water then the water is "squidged" out with a card or window cleaning thingy.
If that is the stuff you are talking about, I can find out what it is called from one of our LFS's that has stocked it.
If its a new tank without fish or water just gloss the back with plack paint !!!

I know there *was* a roll of mylar being passed around, but that was for lighting reflectors.

Hi OohFeeshy,

Mylar! Thats the stuff, thanks for reminding me, it was beginning to bug me. Only to find it's not what I need. The idea I have is to add a light blue semi transparent film to the back of the tank, like the protective film that is supplied on new mobile phone and monitor screens. I don't know what this stuff is called, and if it is available where I can buy some.

Any ideas anyone?

I painted my previous tank (and have since scraped it off), and don't won't to do that again as it's too permanent. I'll probably end up resorting to a plain blue aquarium poster mounted on a piece of plastic, and fix it a few mm away from the outside of the tank glass.
