Hi

I have a 1,2 meter 220L tank which I want to stock with 5 yellow labs and 15 demasoni. I have a Dolphin F2000 internal filter and a Fluval 205 canister. Would this be sufficient filtration?

Thanx.
Rifaat.

external Fluval canister filter and the internal filter will do the job good:)

thanx
so the Fluval 205 would be fine then??
the box just confused me a bit, said 200L and 40USG

okay, well realy you need heavy filteration for them cichlids! what you have realy isnt enough for all them fish, if you only had a few fish it would be fine, though since you have so many fish you realy need a filter that will filter your water 10 times over a period of 1 hour!

so what do i add to improve filtration??
if i the fluval 205 and the powerhead each does 3X per hour, does that mean i have 6X per hour and just need to get another filter to add another 4X per hour??

I cant find much info on your dolphin filter only that its supposed to do 650 litres per hour and that your fluval 205 is only for aqauriums up to 200litres.

I would say even with both of them you may be slightly under filtered.

For relatively the same price as the fluval 205 you can buy a tetra tec 1200 (changes 1200 litres per hour), which will probably be enough for your entire tank, if you wanted to you could run the dolphin internal filter along side it as an extra boost. ( ihave never heard of the dolphin filters, so dont know how good they are).

another option would be to ditch the dolphin internal filter and buy a tetra tec 700 external canister filter to run along with your fluval 205.

On my 500 litre tank I run a tetra tec 1200 and a fluval 4 internal filter which works just fine.

Hope this helps a bit, Sorry if I sound like a tetra tec agent lol, but I just know they are great filters.
