I currently have a 130ltr tank and I am looking at upgrading it for a larger tank. I like the look of the Red Sea 250 lte tank but have been advised by this website ( thank you) that I could get a custom tank made with a sump for the same sort of price.

I currently have 2 humbugs, a yellow head goby, a cleaner wrasse and a jewel algae blennie.

I was wondering if I would be able to have tangs, angels or butterfly fish in the new tank and if so which ones and how many? I would transfer the other fish to the new tank.

Thanks for any advice.

you would be pushing it, even with the smallest tangs. They will outgrow a 250L

Although if you went custom and got a 4x2x2 then you could keep a tang.

Angels - dwarf ones would be ok in 250l

butterflys tend not to be reef safe and hard to feed.

Also the humbug damsels may get agtressive towards new additions

i would get rid of the damseles when youy trancfer the rock etc,

you could get

clowns
gobbies
blennys
coral beauty
flame
chromis
flasher wassse
royal grammer
baggai cardinal
chalk baslets
pink fire fish
6 line wrasse
purple fire fish
yellow watch man goby
