Howdy all! Got two fire bellied toads today. They have such a personality. I named em Cado (as in avacado) and Bino (as in Bombino). I did my research and learned they were the best frogs for beginners so I got a pair. Wee. I thought my family was missing something :D

Anybody have any random tidbits of information I might need to/ want to know?

Yeah I learned that from the sales person guy... I kinda figured they had some poison to em cause of the red belly though... thanks though. That could've been something people may tend to overlook. I had one friend suprised as heck that they even sold poisonous animals here.

Oh its not that bad of a toxin, I think it was just like Samanella (Food poisoning) which will just make you throw up and such for a while, so nothing reallyto worry about

Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Since they're toxic, should they be kept alone or can other mildly toxic toads/frogs live with them?

It also looks like they're attempting to mate at times. I read they only mate in a certain season, but does that go out the window when they're in a controlled enviroment?

Mine grapple at times, I think they are kind of...*dumb* though. I had to separate my two after one bit the others leg mistaking it for a cricket. I expected him to let go but after 3 minutes I had to break it up. You could try other frogs/toads as long as you stayed on top of water changes as not to let the water get to entoxicated :)
