ok, i currently have a breeding pair of angel fish in a 125 ltr tank. They spawned yesterday but my ammonia leves are 0.25, would this be harmful to the eggs? i have done a 15% water change and there is 0.25 ammonia in my tap water. all my other levels are nitrite <0.3 nitrate 25 ph 7.4. I do have Prime Seachem that removes chlorine, chloramines and ammonia, also detoxifies Nitrite and Nitrate. However, it is only my ammonia that is slighhtly too high, would you recommend using the Prime Seachem to remove the Ammonia? and would it interfere with my cycle?

If you are cycling this tank with a pair of Angelfish then yes. Do you use a de-chlorinator of any kind when adding water from your water changes?

yes i do i use Neptunes Bob Martins Tap water safe, i had trouble with my ammonia levels before and was advised to buy the Prime Stuff, it only got delivered this morning (bought it off ebay).I already did my water change before the Prime got delivered.

Prime is generally considered one of the best products on the market... i haven't heard of the product you are currently using, but i would switch over to the Prime. It is VERY concentrated though, and must be used as such :good:

Ok, so 1 capful treats 200ltr of tap water, i will add half a capful to remove the ammonia. Will it be alright to add it even though i have already dechlorinated the water and all my other levels are fine?

Also when doing a water change i change 10-15% of the water, how do i work out how much prime to use to treat the tap water?

ok i have just worked out i will need 0.25ml to treat 10ltr of tap water.

I wouldn't look at it as a means of getting rid of any Ammonia you have in your tank (that's what your filter is for) but more of a De-Chlorinating agent, also removing harmful metals from the tap water.
I wouldn't add any straight into your tank for now, continue to monitor your Ammonia and NitrIte readings and next time you do a W/C add it to the water before it goes back in the tank.

You need to work out what volume you put your water in during a water change, IE; i use a 20L bucket, therefore i add a tiny amount to the bucket as my warm water is filling it up.
It is all written on the bottle somewhere on the label.

Terry.
