Hi all,

I'm finally getting the chance to add some more yellow labs to my stocking. It is a 55gal tank that currently houses 1 jewel and 2 yellow labs. I'd like to get 2-3 more. The original 2 labs were purchased at the same time and were relatively the same size. Now one is much larger than the other and chases the smaller one around pretty regularly. I'd like to get a couple more so the little one isn't always getting picked on. Should I add 2 small labs? or should I add two larger ones? Or should I maybe add a large and a small?

Any thoughts on this appreciated.

thanks.

You'd be better off adding them small, usually the adults won't see juvies as a threat to their territory. That said, be sure to rearrange your tank and feed the existing fish right before adding the new ones. This should hopefully keep the adults busy enough that they won't notice the new comers until they get settled in. :good:

Thanks for the help. I added them yesterday (2 smaller) after feeding the existing. The smaller of the two original ones seems to have more of an issue with the new comers, as you mentioned probably because the larger guy doesn't see them as a threat. I am going to re-arrange the tank asap, just got some new rocks so it makes an excellent opportunity.

Thanks again.
