Hi, I bought some API Leaf Zone the other day but have a stupid question about adding it

Do I add it straight to the tank, mix it with tank water or ...?

Also, when do I add it - after a water change?

Many thanks & sorry for being such a thickie

The liquid ferts I have used have always said " Add with the water your replacing at a water change ". Thats what I've always done but, it should tell you on the label directions.

Thank you for helping me.

It doesn't actually give directions for adding, just the dosage amount.

I will do the same as you :good:

Thanks again, jen

I add directly into the tank because the dosage is daily and I only change the water once a week. plus the filter current should spread it anyway.

Same here, straight into the tank, using a syringe nicely supplied by my local chemist shop so I can measure the dose accurately and not dribble stuff everywhere by trying to use the lid as a measuring cup!

I use Flora Boost, and it tells me to disolve the dose in 1/2 a litre of warm water before adding to the tank.
One question I have on this subject: is it OK to add fertiliser during a fishless cycle?

Brilliant idea - I'm going to copy that too.

Thanks all :good:

Funnily enough a syringe came with mine anyway. Probably wouldn't have thought about one if it hadn't, but it is excellent for accurate dosing, and no spillages. Good thinking Batman
