Hey guys,

A friend (isnt it always a friend) has bred some Kribenis and has offered me some. I have in a 2 foot tank
1x Pearl Gourami
2x Neon Tetras
1x Phantom Tetra
1x Platy
3x sucker fish (you know the ones that clean up the algae)

Anyway, I have read that the Kribenis are aggressive towards Angelfish and Gouramis. Will I have any problems introducing some of these into my tank? Or if they are still young will they be ok?

Also, how many do you think I can support without overcrowding.

Cheers.

When breeding Kribs are aggressive to everything! TBH, you'd be better adding more neons (6 or 8) as they prefer to be in groups, same goes for the phantoms, really.
I'm not great on stocking levels, but i'd say you're close to stocked....

Kribs are normally alright with other fish unless they are breeding.
Try and find out what those sucker fish are.If they are chinese algae eaters you will more than likely have big problems ahead as they are nearly always aggressive.
Like Andy said, neons and black phantoms do prefer to be in larger groups

A 2 foot tank is likely to be either 15 or 19 US gallons. If your algae eaters are Chinese Algae Eater they will outgrow this tank, and they also get aggressive and territorial as has already been stated. I would rehome them.

Then, as stated above, you should up the numbers of neons and phantoms to at least 5 each, as they are schooling fish and won't be happy or feel safe unless in a school.

This will not leave room for the kribensis. Nor will you have room for the kribensis if you leave the tank as it is now.
