Right then folks, my 90L has been cycled and the fish are getting on great. My next purchase is going to be a nice piece of bogwood (ideally with a plant in/on it) then once that is in i want to get some corys for activity at the bottom

Current stocking is 5 harlequin rasbora and 5 leopard danios in a 90L roma (filter is a 2+ temp is 25 deg c)

how many and what type of Corys would people recomend (i'd like a colourful species)

and i seem to have brown algae developing on my live plants, ornaments and front panel of the glass (appears about 5 days after cleaning) and i clean it off when i do my weekly 30 percent changes..would an algae eater be an idea to keep all algae at bay? how big do they get? what type should i get?

corys shouldn't be added until you've had 4 weeks of clear tets after the cycle has ended as they might die
there are lots of different types of corys

colourful ones are more expensive and not so easy to get hold of
tough ones are bronze , albino and peppered
some leopard type ones
tritilaneus , julli , reticulated , sterbai
i have lots of corys 14 different sorts
avoid pandas as they are rather delicate and most people have difficulty in keeping them alive

which ever you go for you could add a group of 6-8 happily in there - if you go for a pygmy type - pygmaeus , habrosus or hastatus you could have 10-12

go here have a look at the corys then go to your lfs

for the algae get a group of otos ( Otto,Otocinclus affinis) - (2") or a bn plec ,(3-4")
at least a pair of pitbull plec - 2-2.5"
dwarf shrimp and snails are amoung the best algae eaters IME

increased the water flow to stop algae - post a post in planted section stating how long your lights are on , wether you have any slow flow areas of the tank and also the type and colour of the algae

what is a hypansitrus zebra.they look good. Will my LFS have them? what size do they grwo to and are they hardy?

pitbull plec looks good too..and dwarf shrimp sound good too.

By the time i get these (this coming weekend at the earliest) the tank will be at a good maturity i think. first clear test was about 3 weeks ago now..

Will i need to get some kind of shelter for keeping plecs and corys? things like caves or terracota plant pots for them to hide in?

As i said im trying to get an intresting piece of bogwood that will dominate the back of the tank and provide lots of nooks to shelter in

hypansitrus zebra are very rare fish and can reach upto £100 for a small fish, upto £300 for a proven female, shrimps are great little kritters, i love watching mine (only got the one though sadly) do his shrimpy things, i can imagine a group of them being very entertaining
