It would made it a lot easier if this stupid driftwood didn't have the rock plate underneath. I had to rip out so much grass (I know, it's hard to tell). Anyways, here is the before picture, nice and clear

Here's the after... Please, any positive/negative feedback would be appreciated, it's still not too late to take it out and put the grass back... Thanks

I'll take a new picture when it clears, and the grass was cut right before the "after" picture so I could see more of the wood

Probably stirring up the dirt to put the wood in... :/

I personally prefer the darke african wood.

Should look great when its cleared up

What is that "grass" (common and scientific name), how high does it grow, any special requiments??

Yeah I was actually looking for a african or the darker driftwood, but everything had too big of a base, which would mean I'd have to take out a lot of grass. This is real wood, it's just a bit brighter I guess :( I got it for 10 bucks CAD so I'm not a big loss if I take it out. I just felt that the tank needed a better center piece... I need some cold hard criticism -_-

edit: yeah the cloudiness is from stirring up the gravel, and I soaked the wood for 24 hours, it needed a slab because since it would tip over without it (the base wasn't big enough).

Konrad, if you're looking for cold hard criticism...

Your tank is amazing, except for one thing. I hate the way the grass at the front is pushing against the glass, creating those huge blind black spots. For me, it really detracts from your tank and ruins the effect. If it was my tank I'd thin out the grass so you can see through it, and so it's not a dense black patch.

Just my opinion though, because you have an amazing tank otherwise.

I agree with the whole grass thing.
Dont get me wrong, your tank is one of the best i have seen! i am jelous!

I think its nice although far too overcrowded... For me keeping fish is about being able to see and appreciate the fish. I think even if you just removed that grass at teh front it would open the tank up wonderfully!

Anyway, you must be commended on your plant growing capability...you must be doing something right to be seeing such massive growth.
