What addatives are needed for a planted tank
and what are the best ones.
I have heard it said that rabbit poo is a good fertaliser for plants?
sounds like an old wives tale to me anyone else heard that one before????

well i think the rabbit poo thingie would work wonders for your garden, but in a planted tank, i think it would have to be prepared.. you see any kind of poo contains nutrients that plants could use :) but when it comes to rabbit poo, simply placing it in an aquarium might lead to er... stinky water....

additives to a planted tank come in 3 forms only i think
initial nutrient rich substrates (flourite, floredepot)
liquid fertilizers (like sera florena ? florapride? i forgot)
solid fertilizers (like root tabs)

other forms of additives are c02 injections etc etc

hope this helps

 Dude, i think you should leave the rabbit poo for the garden, not the tank.... Who the hell came up with that one...... :dunno:

Anyways, i do add several things for my plants. All products from Seachem. I use liquid fertilizers and root tabs, but depending on what plant types you have u wouldnt necesarilly need both. :) But the amounts of additives is dependent on how 'planted' u want to go!
