Power Sand or Aqua Soil-Africana or Aqua Soil-Malaya? Whats the differences? Which would be best to be mixed with Pea Gravel?

Ok, thanks. But that link doesnt say what the difference between them is. THe description is the same for all of them...:S

I'll do a search then, see what happens.

EDIT: But i can someone still answer the questions please :D

You could always ask me!

There's no difference bar the colour

P.S Don't mix with pea gravel or anything else :good:

laterite, flurite?

otherwise, whats stopping you completely remving the substrate and starting over, just the hastle?
Sometimes it might be money - especially if you're not old enough to have a full time job yet ;)

Just guessing.

But Gnatfish, you can add some first layer API laterite that would certainly do the job and not break the bank :good:

Thanks for the suggestions

Well Bloo got it right, i dont really have the most money in the world so the cheap is good :D I am not old enough to get a full time job so i use the little pocket money i get on the two tanks i have. (It doesn't help when the plants keep dieing!!!)

Also just to clear it up. I have an empty 40l tank. With about 3l of pea gravel. It looks like i'm gonna have to buy some more gravel. But with a bottom layer of something. I've gone of ADA substrates now, what do you think about this?

Either Laterite or this
or any other suggestions.
Root tabs are effective and good value. You can also target specific plants and you won't need to replace your existing substrate.

Here's one of many products available - http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?...dex&cPath=8_166

I might use these for the other tank i have, that has just gravel no nutrients at all. The Amazons will probably appreciate it.
