active capsules.

Never heard of them, per se. I have heard of things like White Diamond which removes ammonia from your water. I keep some for emergency use (like a fish dies and I don't catch it) for quick removal of any ammonia that may build up. I can't say if it works or not, never had the opportunity to test it. However, I personally wouldn't rely on this type of product. It seems to me more of a band-aid than anything else. If you are doing your job as an aquariast correctly, you won't need this type of product for normal everyday use.

I got some capsule things when i set up my 56g (can't remember what they were called :*) ) and they looked like headache pills.
Seemed to work quite well :)

I don't believe in such things. Miracle cures. :grr: Ammo lock, and others I imagine, convert the amonia into a less potent form but it is still there and gives false readings.

If you are having problems, the source has to be dealt with soon or or later or there will be problems.

u should rely on the biological bactrea in ur filter and now fancy chemical filter media. i personally don't use anything apart from sponge, floss and bio-stars(tm) and u shouldn't either. it's not worth it considering ur filter is doing it's job.

if u need it then u've got a bigger problem in ur tank.
