I have read a lot of differing opinions on activated carbon use in marine aquariums.

I found that the general consensus is to use a about 1/2 cups (118mL) for every 50 gallons of water.
and to use it around one week out of the month to remove dissolved organic material.

What are your opinions on the use of the stuff in marine aquarium?

I trust your thoughts and opinions over a lot of other resources.

Thanks,
Nick

Only just noticed no one responded here.

Personally, I constantly run carbon in a reactor in my system, for various reasons. I don't really see any reason why running it constantly would be a problem. I use about 2 cups on a ~90G system.

Alright, cool.

Theres so many conflicting ideas out there.
Even from fish store to fish store.
But it makes sense to use it al least every so often.

I find when I don't use it my water turns green. I run it all the time part of my canister filter. (Rena XP2)
