I used to be a die-hard glass fanatic, but now I'm wondering about tanks made from acrylic.
Why do you prefer one over the other? What are the pros and cons of your choice?

Glass. I have an acrylic 5 gallon and it's okay but eventually it will yellow and it's easy to scratch up, not to mention it will get brittle and disintegrate rather than break like glass so it makes a bigger mess.

Acrylic is nice because it's lighter, it doesn't break as easy, and sometimes, though not always, it's cheaper. However, I'm a glass person, because they don't get scratched up very easy and even the oldest glass tanks I've seen still stay clear instead of getting sort of blurry looking like the acrylics. And I've moved over six times with a glass tank, so I know the hassle of traveling with with a glass tank, and it's still worth it. :D

Although I'm considering some bigger tanks eventually that may have to be Acryllic I still choose Glass. My reasoning follows suit of many of those above, but their is another one. Acryllic, no matter how well made, is still a plastic and has all the weakness of plastic. Although glass may break easier, acryllic has many more fault points than glass in the aquarium usage area.
