So i went to walmart the other day and picked up a tube of silicone. This is befor i knew there was special silicone for aquariums. Anyways i glued a bunch of my rocks together with it that i want to put in my cichlid tank. The calk is grey dont know if that will make a difference. Will this be ok in my tank or do i need a pure silicone for aquarium use. Thanks

Well I was going to use some Silicon today, it was that mono stuff and just before I was about to sqweez it out, I seen on the tube that it said not to use it on underwater surfaces. so see if it says anything on it like that

It doesnt say anything liek that infact it says safe to use on sink and tub drains im just worried about chemicals leaching into my water.

Most silicon (except for those that are for aquarium use) have arsenic in them to prevent mold growth. I would definitely remove them.

Blue Ram is correct, bathroom (indeed most silicone based bonders) have various chemicals in them which ARE toxic to fish. I would reccommend removing the rocks and re-doing them with the aquarium stuff.

The fungacides will leach out of the product you used, poisoning your fish. Other than silicone marked specifically for aquarium use, GE Silicone II is the only one suitable for aquarium use.

GE Silicone II is 100% sillicone, which makes it safe for aquarium use.
Any silicone that is marked as 100% silicone (no additives) will be safe for aquariums
