I came accross these guys when I was just fooling around the internet. They seem awsome Anybody know anything about em? Has anybody had these fish before?

I've never owned them, but i have observed them in public aquariums before. i agree, they are awesome.

Thanks for bringing this up! i had never really given them much thought before. its fun to learn about new fish species.

Thanks for the info Leahzebelle. Hm..it's a shame they're identified as vulnerable in the IUCN list. The first link states they live upto about 20years while the other says about 100! Definitely one of the coolest fish I'v come accross.

I've got a friend who farms these and got them over 1m long, they prefer cool water and larger open water, plants and blanket weed is a night mare for these fish.
