Just got back from lfs after buying some more plants, stuck the plants in the tank and was about to throw the placcy bag when my boy starts hollering at me to stop! :shout:

His superman sight had spotted a guppy fry no bigger than 5mm in about a teaspoon of water at the bottom of the bag! these plants were transported with not so much as the water coating their leaves and this little blighter lived through it!! :S

Well, it was still swimming about fine so we set to on prepping up by old quarantine tank and its got its own private ward now!

how often does that ever happen to anyone here? the guy at lfs keeps his fry in the plant tank and when he pulled one out, he must've dragged this little fella with!

It's not uncommon, but normally it's those damn Malaysian Trumpet Snails that hitch for free. I've actually heard stores, where people count their fish in the bag and when they open the bag at home in the tank, an extra adult fish will somehow appear. It's less common to pull out fish with plants as they normally swim away when you're moving what they're using as a hiding spot. I know Ghost Shrimp are completely unable to move out of the water. Those are sometimes hitchikers with plants.

what a result. bet the poor thing thought his days were numbered, glad hes in a good home.
good on superman eyes

my LFS got a batch of goldfish fry with their last fish shipment lol. I got a bag of neons and a fighter fish once, there was a spare harliquin rasbora in the tank once everyone was in but I swear he wasn't in there the first time lol! And as the tank was new I know he wasn't in there to start with :p weird stuff.
