Ok so I’ve had my tank for about 6 months now. Its finished the cycling process. It’s a 54Litre (15 gallon) tank. I just have some last minute questions.

1. Where can I get a drip acclimation kit and how to drip acclimate

2. (I’ve had very mixed answers on this) do I need to feed shrimp a specific food or will they just eat whatever my fish eat e.g. flakes, vegetables etc..

3. is it reliable ordering shrimp off of eBay. I want to get blue velvet shrimp but can’t find any near me. I’ve found breeders selling on eBay that have good reviews and a high trust rating but would you guys recommend?

thanks for all your help ?

1. You need a bucket and some airline tubing. Empty the shop bag carefully - water and fish etc - into the bucket. Tie a loose knot in the airline tubing then start a siphon from the tank by sucking on the airline tubing. Tighten the knot to allow a few drops a minute.

2. If shrimps are in a tank with fish, it's pointless using a specific shrimp food as the fish will eat it all before the shrimps find it. Just use good quality fish food, and break some of it up small so the fish will take a long time to find it all and give the shrimps chance.

3. If the sellers have a high rating, they'll be OK. But try to match their GH to yours - their location will give you an indicator. If you live in a hard water area, look for sellers in south east England. If you have soft water, look for sellers in northern England or Scotland.
I bought shrimps from an eBay seller; as I have softish water I chose a seller based in Scotland and the shrimps were fine.
