I think few of my fishes have somekind of parasites. Should I dose the whole tank when medicating them or just separate those sick fishes to quaranteen? I have corys in the tank, sick ones are silvertipped tetras.

What parasite is it.

I don't know. One tetra is skinnier than other and sometimes I have seen it scratshing itself to leaves. Other ones skin is dim. Both tetras are older than 6 years.

Treat the tank so that the parasite is completely elliminated from your water. However, though the scratching might signify an external parasite (have you medicated for anything recently though? - as this can also cause flashing.) - the skinny tetra would indicate an internal one. You should check the state of their poo and, if white and/or stringy, treat for internal parasites too. I'd treat the skinny tetra for them anyway. At 6 years though, they are rather old so the inevitable may come to pass. Good luck :)

Yes skinny one propably has external parasites, maybe in gils. Never medicated before. Poop is normal. I think I got this from my littlesisters tank. I wasn't carefull at all, albeit I knew her fishes had something wrong with them. Own fault.

Do I have to lower the dose because of corys?
