Hi i though i hade a 305 Liters, but i think its 170 Liters (see i dont no what i'm taking about lol) Tank size L120 x H 45 x W 30 all I have in the tank is pump, filter and a heater also the fish.

I have just got 2 X SERA PLANT CARE KIT

what i want to no is i need to get the lights so i want to no if this is ok

2 X Hagen Glomat Double Starter Unit 30w (so i will have 4 lights) or should i get 40w one and should i get all the same lights or can i get a night light with one of them thanks sorry i dont no any thing about this WPG

120 long by 45 high by 30 wide = is around 2600 L ?! (or 700 US Gallons)

You sure about that? Thats abit on the large size... heh

now if the measurements were in CM, then you have about 42 US gallons (160 L)

Your tank holds 162 litres, 43 US gallons or 36 UK gallons approx, to work out watts per gallon you use US gallons, with the lighting you are thinking of buying this will make your tank a highlight tank and will take a bit of looking after, you will need to have the co2 and fertilisers in check or you will encounter problems with algae.

If you go with the 4x30 watt option (4x30 = 120 watts Divided by 43 gallons = 2.8 WPG) this will give you 2.8 WPG, if you go with 4x40 watts this will give you 3.7 WPG both of these would be considered highlight tanks and will require the maintainence that goes with that amount of light.

If you are just a beginner at planted tanks i would read through the threads here, and the pinned topics, there is lots of useful information.

If you want something a bit easier to maintain you could consider less wattage and still have a very nice planted tank.

I presume she means centimeters Walt, its common in Europe to measure metrically
