I have recently had my first success with breeding my Channa gachua's and today is the first time the parents have allowed the fry to come to the front of the tank.
The pictures aren't great because i dont have a macro lense on my camera but you can clearly make out the fry, there are about 200 by my estimations!

Great news, best of luck with raising them.

I will be selling them once they are a big enough size, not sure on how much yet but they retail for about £15 so it will be much less than that.
Before any one on the American side of the water gets excited remember i live in England :p

Yea wish you all the bestin raising these fry! :)

Any chance we could see a pic of their dad?

Ohhh.. they are lovely. Makes me feel kinda sad looking at them as we lost Jethro (our gachua) a few days ago. He just suddenly dropped dead, we suspect it may have been dropsy.

Anyway, glad to see your gachuas are so happy. They're beautiful creatures.

They look brilliant CFC, Its a pitty you haven't got a decent camera as the pictures you could have would be super!

Very nice indeed....How many out of the 200 do you think will actually make it?
With a first spawn i more or less expect at least a 50% mortality rate in the first 2 weeks and maybe as little as 20% to reach it to full maturity, but i havent experienced the usual ammount of losses yet so maybe with snakeheads it will be different.
