So, I got the good wooden nestbox that hangs outside the cage from my parents during Thanksgiving and was transfering the babies to it yesterday so their parents could have their interior room back (the makeshift nestbox was just sitting on the bottom of the cage), and I transfered all 4 babies over....................... only to find there was ANOTHER!!!! Oh my GOD! One of the two eggs that showed no signs of being fertile for an entire week, then started showing veins but had a huge air bubble inside so I thought it was bad, HATCHED! The other is gone so I guess it cracked and Joule ate it. I am seriously amazed. It hatched several days late too, this baby is no more than 2 days old at the most.

New baby. I handfed him yesterday because his crop was empty, but it was full today so I think we're good.

I have a lot of respect for your, and look up to you synirr.
You keep lizards that would be thrown out, some of the best bettas, and even baby birds.
Great job!

Their little voices are getting stronger and I've started handling the largest ones... I am totally in love
I'm thinking of pulling a male once they get pinfeathers and hand feeding it a bit to see if there really is a personality difference, but I'd be starting that only after they need 2-3 feeding per day.

better you than me. all that naked bird-flesh kind of creeps me out :alien: i don't think that i'll ever get into bird breeding...
