I have a 20 gal that I just moved the inhabitants out of 4 days ago. Im going to have to establish the tank again so I can use it for quarentine. Anyway there is still water in it, and I noticed some fuzzy brownish green sort of moss or fungus growing on the gravel. Is that normal? I was just wondering if that is the little beniful bacteria dying. Just curious, because now I have to clean out the tank and re-establish it anyway.

You can get proprietary chemicals to remove it or you could increase the amount of fluorescent light or sunlight (I'd choose the former ).

Ah thats a great idea. You might be onto something there, because it only appeared after the light was off for 2 days.
