I got my pearl gouramis today. I ended up getting 4 little ones for the 55 gallon. I asked for 1 male and 3 females but the guy catching them said that one of them he couldn't be sure that it was a female. I couldn't really tell myself either. Now that they are here in my aquarium I can tell for sure that it is indeed another male. So I've got 2 males and 2 females. I'm wondering if it'll work because the pearl gouramis are considered the more peaceful gourami or if the 2 males will end up fighting?

Should I return one of the males or see how it goes? At the moment they are all hanging out together and both males dont seem bothered by one another. :dunno:

It might work not sure, just have to keep an eye on them, will be fine if they both pick a female and pair up together,

Alright I'll keep an eye on them. I do have a lot of plants in the tank and floating ones too. I've never kept gouramis before so I don't know all too much about them. Course I've read things but never had experience with them. I guess it one starts to get bullied I can always take it back to my lfs.

Good luck hope you don't have too.

as long as ther's plenty of hidding room in the tank it should be fine. Make sure the tank is broken up into sections with the palnts and decorations as they will pick there own territory. Ive got 4 males together without a problem. they hang out together all the time
