Hi there everyone, just stumbled across this interesting forum and wanted to say hi

Im Welly and i have just purchased a cheap second hand tank and basic set up, its only a 2ft tank as i am only just starting out.

My tank is only 2ft long by 1ft by 1ft and i am planning to keep dwarf cichlids but unsure as to how to work out how many fish i can keep without over crowding, any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your time and hope to chat soon.

Welly.

hello,

It's hard to tell just by measurements but if u know how many liters or gallons it hold that will help. How many litres or gallons it is is how many fish it can hold. For example if it is 10 gal. it can hold 10 fish. You can bend this rule if the fish are little or like to live close to one another. Such as you can put 13 fish in a 10 gal. if they or you dont plan on them getting any bigger.

I hope this helps. Feel free to mesage me if you think this was good advice and would like any more.

Thats great advice, many thanks.

It appears to be a 12 gallon tank so i guess i should be looking to be stocking 12 or so fish

Thanks again

Welly

You can have about 15 inches of fish i'd keep to about 10 if your new to the hobby as they are easier to maintain.
