I've got a 180litre setup, consisting of various species of Tanganyikans, together with a pair of Bristlenose.

My question is, you never see crabs, crustaceans for sale to live within african community setups?

Are any more well known aquarium crabs, shrimps, etc etc compatible/able to live within such a setup?

Be interesting to know if anyone has successfully managed this, I imagine the first obstacle is the water chemistry!?!?!

if you've got tangs like me you'll know how territorial they are. also most get fairly large mouths. they would devour most crustacians.

Yer. But i was watching the Lake Tanganyika programme on Youtube which explored the species of the lake. Lots of crabs, similar patrolling the base!

I'm sure there's a crab somewhere that's mean enough to put up a good fight!

The problem with our tank is the closed environment.

Don't forget they can catch and eat your fish too. Especially fish that sleep or stay along the rocks.
