I currently have 2 bolivian butterflys and are thinking of adding either another pair of butterflys or adding a pair of blue rams to mix it up a bit. I see in the lfs they are in the same tank, and the worker their said i would have no problems but i want to see what you guys think. My tank is large enought for the 20gal per ram rule.

Thankyou!!
Dave

Assuming you mean bolivian rams? Then yes they work very well together providing they have enough space.

I have 3 GBR's and 2 Bolivians and they get on famously :good:

ah yeh they are bolivian butterfly rams sorry should have put that in the first time. Do yours fight at all? at feeding time my male headbutts the female is she gets too close... is this normal. They are fine at all other times

They do have a mad rush for food, but nothing aggressive, the occassional fin raise and a 'look' of Oi thats mine :p , but with rams its almost always bluff.

I had them in a 20G and moved them to a 55G, assumed they would find there own territory once they had more space but no, they still all stay together in 99% harmony :D

I would say go for it, they are all such characters, great fun to watch :)
